Now that you have your gorgeous leather notebook cover and got a couple of plain inserts, dress them up! It’s pretty simple to turn your Traveler’s Notebooks from boring to wow. You just need two contrasting pieces of paper, washi tape, packing (or any wide clear) tape, and a Midori insert.
Basically, you are just glueing one paper on the front, close to but not touching the fold. Then another on the back the same way. It is easiest if you lay the book flat for this and to trim the paper.
Once you have your paper attached, put a strip of washi tape on the binding. After the washi, to keep the tape and paper secure, you want to add a strip of packing tape across the spine.
It sounds weird, but it really helps keep everything together. Don’t forget, your insert is going to get a lot of abuse from bending. The tape gives it more staying power. It also keeps the tape from falling off or bunching up. When finished, you really don’t notice the packing tape at all.
I couldn’t resist this We R Memory Keepers pad when I saw it at Michaels. Especially at $5 with a travel theme. Now you have one of a kind Midori Traveler’s Notebook inserts. Of course, you don’t have to stop there. Decorate the inside too.
